Oh my, without Beatrix Potter there would be no Peter Rabbit. How did it affect society? It gave so many stories to tell. We would have missed out on a lot as children. I read many of her books. OF course, keep in mind, I did not see a television until I was 12.

Beatrix Potter wrote the Peter Rabbit books. Beatrix Potter was a young lady of privilege and quality who became an author of children’s books. Her work affected society in a very big way. She was one of the best children’s authors at a time when young women like her were expected to marry well and produce children and not much more. People have been reading her books to their children for over a hundred years now. They are timeless classic children’s literature. I read them to my own children when they were younger. Without Beatrix Potter, I think the world would be a sad and somewhat colorless place, as she was a pioneer in the area of children’s literature and without her to pave the way for others, I don’t think children’s books would be what they are today.
