A film about how it used to be. The Tale Of Mr. Jeremy Fisher. Written and Illustrated by Beatrix Potter (Published 1906). Reading by Voxinabox. Music by Kevin MacLeod.
I have no idea why I did this! (But who says you need a video camera to make videos for Youtube?)
Did they have celebrity gossip in 1906? They didn’t have television or cinema. Was there radio? What, if anything, was the equivalent of the bikini-babe centre pic of a Youtube vid? They did have some pretty horrific traveling freak shows. The school leaving age was about 11, I think. Oh well, I suppose things move on. I posted this vid because it’s really the opposite of what YouTube is all about. Or is it? YouTube is about… everything. There’s room for everything and anything. (Within Terms of Service of course.) I’m not against skate-boarding dog vids.
Other things that happened in 1906:-
Theodore Roosevelt became the first American President to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
An automobile company called ‘Rolls Royce Ltd’ was registered.
SOS became an international distress signal.
The first submarine was launched.
John Betjeman, Estee Lauder and Otto Preminger were born.
World Wars hadn’t been invented yet but local wars were very popular.

Delightful. Very nicely done. One of my favorite stories.
The Beatrix Potter Society has fascinating conferences and information and is simply a lovely way to enjoy and honor and learn more deeply about Beatrix Potter — even to fully discover and appreciate the fungi in her illustrations. : )

Thanks Vox. My mom used to read Peter Rabbit, and I even had a framed poster of Peter sitting around a table with his family in my room when I was little. This story brought up some pleasant forgotten memories. Oh, btw, in the series Salad Fingers, David Firth (author) gave Mr. Fingers 3 finger puppets. 1 of the puppets is named Jermey Fisher. Firth is from England (so i’ve heard) and he may have gotten the name from this story. Maybe he was told this story as a kid, and so Mr. S did too.

Very very VERY well done Vox. As soon as I started this video and saw it was a story, I paused and made myself a snack. Then I sat back and thoroughly enjoyed this.

You are most welcome Alex. I remember being a bit scared of the Peter Rabbit story.

Before there were Pokemon and Power Rangers. Very nice…
Thank you for taking me back.
When I was small, my relatives from Britain brought me a stuffed Peter Rabbit and it was one of my two favorite toys as a kid.

Vox: Your “voice” on guitar is just as compelling as your voice in speaking. You rock.

lol. Well, I may do a re-recording of it. I wasn’t over happy with the last one. There are a few guitar vids and music vids coming up though, so please stay tuned

Thanks Bob. I can do a David Attenborough and a Richard Burton. Perhaps I should do a vid doing a few different voices
Hmm… I think I might just do that

This is off topic, but when are you going to re-post your guitar solo of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”? Holy. Cow. Inquiring minds are waiting in breathless anticipation!

I’d say your voice is closer to David Attenborough than Richard Burton. Still, you’re one of the best narrators in the English language today. Happy to be your friend!

Wow, your voice is absolutely amazing. It reminds me of Richard Burton. I’m surprised the BBC, etc… aren’t after you for children’s shows and stuff! The story itself is quite amusing, but rather sinister lol. Good job *****

You are too kind
I’d heard that marmite was made of crushed grasshopper but that’s another story

No, I let hubby eat marmite, I suppose you could too.
