She had a governess while growing up, so she never needed to go to grade school. That was just the way wealthier families lived back then. When she was older, she tried to become a student at the Royal Botanical Gardens, but was refused because she was a woman. She ended up making a scientific discovery in spite of them all. :) (not to mention becomming a world-wide famous author!) Beatrix never attened school or university.
